Dream

I was sitting on the couch one day on my phone, when I noticed Shorty sleeping on the other couch. This time he was in deep sleep. The reason I knew he was in deep sleep was because usually when he hears someone walking or talking he would usually wake up, but this time he didn't. I watched him sleep for a good ten to fifteen minutes just because I was curious.

As I watched him sleep, I started to pay attention to the little things. When I started paying close attention to those things, he started doing weird movements. He was shaking his left foot, his nose twitched, and his front legs started making moves that looked as if he was running. My first instinct was that he was dreaming. When I came to that conclusion I was fascinated to know if dogs dream because I've never witnessed a dog dreaming till now.

I was then curious to find out if dogs dream and if they do, what do they dream of? I was very eager to find out, so I quickly took a picture of him sleeping and then I went on my laptop. I searched and found a reliable website called www.pedigree.com. I was happy to find a website that answered both of my questions. It said that dogs are similar to humans when it comes to sleeping patterns and brain wave activity. It said that they enter a deep sleep stage where there breathing becomes irregular and have rapid eye movements. It also said that they might move their legs as if they are running. When I read that it I related to it and it made more sense now. It said that it isn't very sure what they dream of, but they are guessing that they are replaying their everyday activities just like us humans.

After reading that, everything made sense to why he was making weird movements. It was like puzzle and I was happy to learn something about dogs that I never really thought about before. It's amazing how much we have in common with dogs. I already knew some things we share with them, now I know that they dream too.
Shorty dreaming (:
